Do you invest only in BCI (Brain Computer Interface)?
Not only BCI but also prosthetics/bionics, medical devices that leverage neuroscience and engineering to treat, reverse, or manage diseases/disorders like Alzheimer's, Parkinsons, ADHD/Autism. Also in NeuroTech devices that improve sleep, treat heart conditions, GI issues, skin diseases, cancer. We look at NeuroTech as a horizontal tool rather than a narrow niche!
Isn't MedTech risky?
Risk for generalist VCs is high but for us with scientists in our diligence team and MedTech ecosystem partners (regulatory and reimbursement) we mitigate that risk as we are not flying blind!
Overview
We're focusing on NeuroTech and Neuro-focused Medtech for this fund. For the kind of demand for non-invasive and/or non-pharmaceutical solutions to chronic pain, stroke/paralysis, brain diseases and disorders (Alzheimer's, ADHD, Autism, Parkinson's, etc) the VC funding is underpenetrated (esp, at pre-seed stage). While most VCs don't have the deep technical expertise to assess the tech, we do!
