Frequently Asked Questions

Why focus on women-led and diverse founding teams?

Only 2.3 percent of global VC capital goes to women-led startups. Our WomenTech Network of 150,000 members surfaces high performing, overlooked founders early. This produces proprietary access, better pricing, and a pipeline of high-performing teams long before traditional VCs see them.

What type of companies does Chief in Tech Capital invest in?

We invest in early-stage, high-potential tech companies. Our scope is sector-agnostic across tech. This includes SaaS, Future of Work, FinTech, Digital Health, Data and Analytics, Productivity, DevTools, and emerging categories where AI creates clear commercial advantage. We enter at pre-seed and seed, often as one of the first institutional checks.

What is your edge in sourcing deals?

High-signal inbound from the WomenTech Network, Chief in Tech Summit, Executive Women in Tech, Startup Awards, and our accelerator programs. Our ecosystem gives us 6–12 months earlier visibility into founders, with more than 100 companies already supported.

How do you evaluate companies?

We run a structured diligence process using Decile Group’s institutional framework: standardized scoring, reference checks, technical review, and market validation. Typical cycle: 2–3 weeks from first meeting to final decision.

How many companies will you invest in?

Around 20–25 core positions. Half the fund is reserved for follow-on checks so we can double down on outliers.

Do you lead rounds?

We lead or co-lead where it creates leverage. In other cases, we follow alongside aligned partners such as specialist funds, emerging managers, and angels in our network.

How do you support portfolio companies?

Access to the WomenTech and Chief in Tech ecosystem for talent, advisors, customers, events, and media. Warm introductions to enterprise buyers. Fundraising prep for follow-ons. Platform visibility that speeds trust and adoption.
